This paper gives an overview of the inelastic (or hysteresis) hinge (or joint) models implemented in LUSAS in recent years, which are a systematization and generalization of the typical models developed by researchers in the last 50 years, for modeling plastic hinges and seismic isolation systems, as well as earth-retaining soil-structure interactions under seismic action. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate typical hysteresis behaviors.
