On maps with given jacobians involving the heat equation

In this paper we presennt and analyze two new algorithms to construct a smooth diffeomorphism of a domain with prescribed jacobian function. The first one is free from any restriction on the boundary, while the second one produces a diffeomorphism that coincides with the identity map on the boundary of the domain. Both are based on the solution of an initial value problem for the linear heat equation, and the second also uses solutions of the Stokes system of Fluid Mechanics.

A smooth center manifold theorem which applies to some III-posed partial differential equations with unbounded nonlinearities Llave Canosa, Rafael de la (2009)
Restricted access - publisher's policyWe prove the existence of a smooth center manifold for several partial differential equations, including ill posed equations with unbounded nonlinearities. We also prove smooth dependence on parameters with respect to ...
The Picard-Fuchs equations for complete hyperelliptic integrals of even order curves, and the actions of the generalized Neumann system Fedorov, Yuri; Pantazi, Chara (2014-03-01)
Open AccessWe consider a family of genus 2 hyperelliptic curves of even order and obtain explicitly the systems of 5 linear ordinary differential equations for periods of the corresponding Abelian integrals of first, second, and third ...
Leseduarte Milán, María Carme; Quintanilla de Latorre, Ramón (2015-03-01)
Open AccessIn this paper we investigate the asymptotic spatial behavior of the solutions for several models for the nerve fibers. First, our analysis deals with the coupling of two parabolic equations. We prove that, under suitable ...
