The research group works on the structure and function of proteins of biomedical and biotechnological relevance. Recombinant proteins are designed and obtained by means of genetic engineering techniques. These proteins are purified and characterised using biochemical and spectroscopic methods. Enzyme engineering and modification are also studied, for their application to biotechnological processes in industry.
