La recerca del grup està orientada als sistemes d'instrumentació i mesura basats en sensors. L'activitat del grup inclou la concepció del sistema, el disseny del sensor, l'electrònica addicional i el processament i tractament de les dades. Els mètodes de mesura emprats inclouen entre d'altres, els ultrasons, els infrarojos i els camps electromagnètics. Les aplicacions d’interès principals són els assajos no destructius, les imatges per ultrasons, l’espectroscòpia infraroja i els sensors per a la mesura de la qualitat dels aliments.
