Recerca en convertidors electrònics de potència. S’utilitzen noves tècniques de conversió multinivell i algorismes de modulació i control que milloren la distorsió harmònica dels sistemes convencionals i la seva resposta dinàmica amb càrregues reals no lineals.
La recerca s’aplica a sistemes d’energies renovables: solar fotovoltaica (autònoms, connectats a xarxa i híbrids) i d’energia eòlica, i a vehicles elèctrics i híbrids.

The research group is focused on the design of power electronic converters, taking into account both two-level and multilevel structures, including the synthesis of new topologies, the development of new analytical and modelling tools, and the application of new modulation and control techniques. Converter structures that use high-switching-frequency transistors (MOSFETs, IGBTs) are of greatest interest to the group, and particular attention is devoted to new semiconductor technologies whose use may become widespread in the near future (IGCTs, SiCs, etc.).The research explores the new applications of power electronic converters to energy management and power supply systems.
