L'activitat es centra en la investigació teòrica i experimental en models i mètodes relacionats amb l'impacte i control del soroll i les vibracions: elaboració de models analítics i numèrics de generació i propagació de vibracions en terrenys i edificis, elaboració de tècniques de mostreig i estratègies en l’avaluació i control de la contaminació acústica, desenvolupament de tècniques d'identificació de fonts sonores i aplicació del control actiu de soroll. Aquesta activitat es complementa amb projectes de transferència que aprofiten el coneixement generat.

The aim of the research group is to study the effect of noise on the environment and on human activity. The group analyses and models systems for the absorption and reduction of sound propagation and characterises the effects of noise on hearing. The group also works on solutions that counter the noise and vibrations produced by mechanical systems.
