El grup A&MP duu a terme investigació bàsica en tecnologies de capa física per sistemes de comunicacions i treballa sobre diferents esquemes de diversitat (espai, és a dir, múltiples antenes, freqüència, temps o codi) aplicats tant a sistemes d'un com de múltiples usuaris. Les activitats del grup també tenen en compte aspectes de nivell de sistema que puguin beneficiar-se de la interacció amb la capa física. Es consideran tant transmissió per cable com transmissió radio en entorns móvils o satel·lit.

Different diversity schemes (i.e. spatial with multiple antennas, in frequency, time or code) are applied to either single user or multiple user transmission. Not only physical layer but also PHY/MAC cross-layer research is taken into consideration. Both, wired and wireless (i.e. mobile and satellite) transmission is considered.
