dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we provide a performance analysis of closed-loop antenna subset selection in Space Shift Keying (SSK) systems. In particular, we provide a closed-form formula for the Symbol Error Rate (SER) of such systems, which is shown to closely match Monte Carlo simulations. Numerical results also verify the performance enhancement of this closed-loop scheme over the conventional open-loop SSK in the high Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) region due to the transmit-diversity gains. In addition, we provide the energy gain that the antenna selection scheme achieves over the open-loop SSK for a target SER.
