Els objectius d'aquest grup de recerca són:
- Estudiar el comportament dels vegetals en condicions d'estrès
- Caracteritzar específicament i infraespecíficament els agents biòtics que causen estrès en els vegetals
- Estudiar la biologia i l’ecologia dels agents biòtics que afecten els vegetals
- Caracteritzar la resistència d'espècies vegetals en condicions d'estrès biòtiques i abiòtiques
- Caracteritzar potencials agents de control biològic
- Dissenyar estratègies de control integrat d'agents nocius
- Dissenyar noves tècniques d'aplicació de plaguicides químics i biològics
