We present a real-time human body tracking system for a single user in a Smart Room scenario. In this paper we propose
a novel system that involves a silhouette-based cost function using variable windows, a hierarchical optimization method, parallel implementations of pixel-based algorithms and efﬁcient usage of a low-cost hardware structure. Results in a Smart Room setup are presented.
