dc.description.abstractThe evolution of bar and shear wave velocities during a drying wetting cycle on a claystone is presented. There is a clear relationship with total suction, established by means of the material water retention curve. The stiffening effect of drying decreases with sample damage. The multiaxial bender element technique is firstly applied to rocklike materials with partial success.
