Electrificación rural en la República del Chad por gasificación de corazones de mazorcas de maíz

Abstract

El propósito del siguiente artículo es presentar el trabajo que está realizando el centro de innovación tecnológica CITCEA-UPC en el proyecto Pôle Goundi. El objetivo principal del proyecto es la revitalización social y económica de Goundi, una pequeña población al sur de la República del Chad. Para ello se ha decidido instalar una pequeña central de generación eléctrica mediante la gasificación de mazorcas de maíz de 20 kW. El sistema estará gestionado por la población local y con la máxima autonomía en materia prima y reparaciones. En este artículo también se analiza la posibilidad de, en un futuro cercano, incorporar otras tecnologías de generación eléctrica que ayuden al desarrollo de la población chadiana.

The purpose of this paper is to present the work being done by the Technology Research Center CITCEA-UPC within the Pôle Goundi project. The main goal of the project is the social and economic improvement in Goundi, a small village at the south of the Republic of Chad. In order to do so, a small gasification power plant of 20 kW will be installed, which will work on corn-cobs. The whole system will be operated and maintained by the local population with the maximum autonomy in terms of raw material and repairs. This paper also analyzes the possibility that in the near future, other power generation technologies to foster the development of the Chadian population can be included.
