The aim of this Project is to study the influence of high return temperatures on district heating in the production of heat and power costs. It seems to be that when the temperatures of the hot water coming back to the heating plant are so high, the power production is generated with a lower performance. Along the project, the influence of this temperature in the production performance of power and heat will be analysed and also the economical impact it has. Finally more impacts on other design parameters, such as pumping work and mass flow, will be described, for both the plant and the network. A real network will be used in this project, and it is the net of DH in Gävle (Sweden), and the most of the study will be focus in its bigger combined heat and power production plant (CHP) based on biofuels and called Johannes.
