In the Industry environment, there is a clear need for increasing flexibility and instituting small batch processing. Textile companies in Europe start to produce a few carpets per batch based on the demand of the customer. However, further pressures by customers to ensure adequate pricing and timely delivery force companies to the best. They are forced to decrease the product development cost and increase the success rate of products brought to the market. On the other hand, mass production has been the popular system used in the last decade. This method consists of producing large quantities of items per batch so there are no changeable parts. This system does not let the customer customize his/her order as implemented with mass customization (MCP). Mass customization will be in the next years the way to improve the profits by reducing costs and getting better products. With this system, the relationship between the costumer s need and the company s possibilities will determinate the production. Nowadays, and after the global crisis, every change that means cost reduction and get better products must be considered. This project is based on simulating the mass customization strategy with carpet manufactures. It is pretend to improve the manufacturing order in the carpet industry. To obtain the real situation it is used Flexsim, the software that let the reality be in the computer. With the three different models, it is tried to reflect with different points of view, the real process. After the simulation with one of the models, it is found some results that let us think that these changes in the virtual world could be good to the real one.
