Aixecament parcial del claustre gòtic i mur romà de la Catedral de Tarragona

Abstract

Amb la realització d’aquest treball se’ns presenta l’oportunitat d’estudiar part de l’herència històrica de Tarragona; una ciutat que neix com a conseqüència de l’expansió del món romà. Tàrraco, esdevé la punta de llança d’un nou ordre polític, cultural i econòmic mostrant-nos el seu esplendor en un dels més extensos conjunts arqueològics que van pertànyer a la Hispania romana. Mostra d’això, són els afloraments del temple d’August, el qual formava part de la zona de culte on hi situem actualment la Catedral de Tarragona. Aquesta ubicació pren una especial rellevància dins de la ciutat donat el seu enclavament, situat sobre un pronunciat turó al costat del mar. Localitzada sobre les restes d’antigues civilitzacions, sempre ha conservant la seva funció primigènia com a zona de culte. L’escenografia de l’àrea sacra, va ser el model arquitectònic que a partir de l’època imperial ocupava aquest espai, unint el valor paisatgístic amb el simbòlic, plantejant un marcat accent religiós. L’estudi i la comprensió d’aquests testimonis urbanístics i arquitectònics esdevenen clau per entendre l’evolució que ha sofert la ciutat. Aquest treball consisteix en l’aixecament en format 3D mitjançant làser escàner d’una part del claustre gòtic de la Catedral de Tarragona, el mur romà que pertany al museu diocesà, la restitució fotogramètrica d’un conjunt de capitells que ornamenten una columna que forma part del claustre i l’estudi de les interaccions que hagi pogut patir el conjunt arquitectònic. El projecte està georeferenciat en el sistema de referència ETRS89, en les coordenades projectades UTM 31N, cotes ortomètriques. L’estudi ve emmarcat dins d’un conveni de col·laboració específic entre l’EPSEB (Escola Politècnica Superior d’Edificació de Barcelona) i l’ICAC (Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica). El projecte estudia la totalitat del claustre gòtic de la Catedral de Tarragona per tal de conservar i documentar el patrimoni. Ens trobem en una localització de gran interès cultural a resultes que és la única Catedral Primada de Catalunya, que conjuntament amb les restes romanes, estan declarades patrimoni mundial per la UNESCO.

English: By writing this study, we have had the opportunity of studying part of the historical heritage of Tarragona, the city born as a consequence of the expansions of the roman world. Tàrraco became the spearhead of the new political, economic and cultural order, showing its splendour in one of the most extensive archaeological sites that belong to the Roman Empire in Hispania. Proof of this are the outcrops of the August temple, that were part of the breeding centre where now stands the Cathedral of Tarragona. This location is especially relevant for its situation in the city, on top of the hill beside to the sea. Placed over ruins of ancient civilisations, always retaining its original functions as place of worship. The scenery of the sacred area was the architectural model for the next constructions which occupied the space, linking the scenic and symbolic value, planning a very marked religion accent. This work is about a lifting in 3D format, using the laser scan, for part of the gothic cloister and the roman wall that belongs to the diocese museum. The photogrammetric restitution of the capitals, which decorate a column shape of the cloister, and the possible interactions that may have suffered the structure of the entire cloister on building on the top. This study is framed inside a collaboration agreement between EPSEB (which is the Catalan acronym for Escola Politècnica Superior d’Edificació de Barcelona) and the ICAC (which is the Catalan acronym for Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica). The project studies the totality of the gothic cloister of the Cathedral of Tarragona, in order to preserve and document the heritage. This location has a very high cultural interest as a result of being the only Cathedral Primada of Catalonia, together with the roman remains, is declared UNESCO world heritage.
