This studio is part of the UPC initiative to perform energy optimization projects (POE). The main targets of the project are to improve and innovate the UPC’s campus energetic management. Modifying the using and management patterns, neither intervening the building’s occupancy nor investing money in structural measures, we can save energy. In cooperation with this initiative we found the LivingLab Campus working methodology that encourages people for team-work providing all together ideas and work to obtain the best results. The objectives of that project are to study the systems that are currently installed in the building on the Campus Nord, B6 building, FIB. We have to analyse all the systems, know how they are consuming now and how can we improve the final results. As well we have to study the envelopment, windows, construction, materials, etc. all that we considerate necessary because it could get influence in the final result of energy requirement. With these data we conducted a study to improve the building and see if we can reduce the consumption of resources (water, electricity and gas) and see what the most cost-effective measures to achieve this objective. Also we obtain the energy certification current and proposed improvements to the software Calener VYP.
