Nowadays, not only is the energy crisis an issue in the industry sector, but it has also become a global problem. We are stuck in a situation where the fossil fuels are depleting and the energy demand is constantly rising. At the same time we are trying to fight against the use of these fuels, because the burning of them seriously impacts on the environment. The index of harmful gases for the last years has become alarming. This is where the renewable or 'green' energies become important. These consist of energies that seem to be inexhaustible such as the sunlight, the tidal movement or the wind, whose exploitation has a minimal impact to the environment if compared to the fossil fuels (coal, petrol...). The wind energy is in the vanguard of those renewable energies. The investment in this type of energy is growing as time goes by, and a heavy increase is expected for the next years. As it can be seen from the graph above, the renewable energies are becoming more important in France. The wind power has constantly grown since 2005, and the last data gathered shows that the wind energy could represent 25% of the electric production for 2030. Nevertheless it is mandatory to define correctly that investment. Nowadays there is a lot of research around the development of modern and new wind farms and new types of wind turbines which increase the performance and are capable of obtaining more energy from the wind. But on the other hand, the maintenance and the exploitation of those turbines are not much considered. The reason of this is that their development and the accurate use of the facilities are being ignored when trying to take the most out of the potential of the turbines. The objective of this internship has been to focus on the exploitation of some wind farms located in France. This has been performed through the analysis of the data provided from different wind farms around France. In order to achieve this, the data from a French company has been provided so as to reach conclusions based on the use of the existing facilities. These databases are going to be read and manipulated with the development of a software in Python language so as to obtain some results.
