Abstract
Business-to-business marketers have begun to appreciate the value social networks -- specifically, the use of social media -- to nurture relationships with current customers and to reach one’s potential customers. This thesis examines the use of social media to capture the impact on supply-chain events and develop a context for those events. It also analyses the use of social media in the supply chain to build relationships among supply-chain participants.
The small and medium scale enterprises are unable to overcome the obstacles to implement and reap the benefits. Only very little is explored to find the influence of supply chain 2.0 in an SME environment as compared to large company environment. Lack of understanding of e-business and its help to SME’s to improve their collaborative working and further to enhance their competitiveness in supply chain. The usage pattern e-business technologies and its direct benefits are still limited in SME’s. This thesis contributes to our knowledge about buyer-seller relations by identifying barriers and conflict situations associated with maintaining and developing durable business relationships by SME's and how social media could help improve them.
