This study begins analysing the trade and the goods markets from a global view, in the last three years, through economic indicators to understand merchandising trade and its of infrastructure to meet it demand. Global markets involve developed and developing economies; the result is that the different countries must remain competitive in the globalized world to achieve wider goals in a sustainable way. The maritime industry is one of the most dynamic and important economic activities of the modern world – according to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), approximately 90% of all global trade is carried by sea. It has grown exponentially since 1980 and has become an efficient and reliable means of transport. In addition, worldwide containerization and the availability of cheap transport to all over the world, have a substantial influence on industrial production, transport and environment. All these aspects mean the increasing pressure on container terminals to provide goods to their hinterland, give service to shipping companies, and all the many necessary support functions connected involving land transport logistics, from road and rail freight. The study aims to deepen understanding about trends in trade, issues and the multilateral trading system; it looks at methods of privatization; it analyzes the Southern African maritime industry system, their ports and their infrastructure, their maritime connectivity, etc.; over the seven years between 2006 and the present. To finish there is a business plan proposal for the Port of Ngqura in the event of licensing Port Terminals at South Africa; it is a previous paper to scan all issues involving a capital investment and aims to clarify all these aspects that involve a business of this kind.
