Abstract

This thesis explains the maintenance plan of a 47m private yacht. The rules and regulations have been taken into consideration when building the maintenance plan. This specific boat does not need to comply with international regulations due to her size, but her construction and maintenance have been done in accordance with classification society rules. The maintenance has been done for the different machinery as well as the hull of the yacht. For the machinery, revisions, inspections and services have been set up following the manufacturersʹ specifications as well as the engineersʹ experience. For the hull, the treatment to avoid movement resistance has been studied. Lastly, different ways of keeping the maintenance schedule up to date have been explained. There is a specific chapter on spare parts and inventory systems and the importance of such.
