SEER - Sistemes Elèctrics d'Energia Renovable
El grup de recerca SEER de la UPC, actualment també Centre de Recerca en Sistemes Elèctrics d’Energia Renovable de la xarxa TECNIO, centra les seves activitats de recerca en l’àmbit de la connexió a la xarxa elèctriques de sistemes de generació basats en energies renovables, principalment fotovoltaica, eòlica i marina. La missió principal del grup es la de contribuir a la integració a gran escala de les energies renovables a les xarxes elèctriques del futur. Amb aquest objectiu en ment, el grup SEER centra el seu treball d'investigació en el disseny de sistemes de control avançats i processadors de potència per a nous generadors basats en fonts d'energia renovable.
Tanmateix SEER desenvolupa anàlisis, sistemes auxiliars i solucions de control per a sistemes elèctrics amb alta penetració de generació distribuïda, que són necessaris per incrementar la penetració de les renovables tot mantenint l’estabilitat d’operació de la xarxa elèctrica.
