1. Desenvolupar estudis en el camp energètic, especialment en les energies eficients i netes, i crear un observatori energètic de la UPC.
2. Impulsar activitats en les àrees de la radioquímica i anàlisi de la radioactivitat, la dosimetria de les radiacions, els estudis radiològics atmosfèrics, les aplicacions clíniques de les radiacions, la protecció radiològica i els estudis de dades nuclears d'interès tecnològic.
3. Participar en la recerca en la física del feix de sincrotrons i en el desenvolupament de la tecnologia dels acceleradors i detectors de partícules.
4. Donar suport a les activitats docents, especialment de doctorat i de postgrau.
5. Difondre els coneixements adquirits d?acord amb els interessos socials.
